By the blessings of our beloved father, Artist. V.M.Balan, who was a legendary connoisseur in Art Graphics, we still sustain in the market for the past 64 years with premium clients as GOVT Departments, Private and public limited companies In India and abroad. VM Balan was identified by Mr. K. Balakrishnan, Proprietor, Kerala Kaumudi for his creations in lithographic magazines. Later, He offered a permanent employment in ‘Kala Kaumudi’ the famous Magazine as illustrator.
In 1954 ‘Chithrasala’ was founded in Puthokkaran Building, Press Club Road in Ernakulam when Ernakulam was evolving into a vibrant Film centric city. In the year 1962, friendship with the legendary Famous dramatician, Shri. Kalanilayam Krishnan Nair who was the founder of drama company ‘Kalanilayam Nadaka Vedhi’ with famous theatrical presentation ‘Raktharakshas’ and ‘Kadamattathu Kathanar’ blessed him with a contract of designing the art work for Drama Stages for them took him to better heights and popularity. Vaikam Mohammed Basheer and Vaikom Chandra sekharan Nair, Vylar Rama Varma, Thakazhi Siva Sankara Pillai were his best friends. Master creations of the famous Logo, Advertisements and Pavilions of Chandrika Soaps are still remembered for generations. At the era where there were no computers, 110 movie posters were designed and hand sketched for Sri. Kunjacko, Udaya Studio, Alappuzha were his best ever green creations.
His followers Mr. Balra Balanj and myself Baburaj Balan inherited the arts from him did the graduation in Fine Arts from Trivandrum Fine Arts College continued the business by spreading the wings to another vibrant city, in the Middle East, Dubai and opened a new arm called ‘In Design’ for their Middle east operations. Apart from the Advertising and hoarding business, diversification of new business verticals in the petroleum sector made Mr. Balraj in opening a petrol filling station in Ernakulam.
We can’t forget Colleagues who exceled in designing and building Pavilions and Hoardings opened to another verticals in the advertising industry fetched famous permanent clients like Chandrika Soaps, Bajaj, Rubco, Cochin Corporation , Abad, KTDC, ITC, National Book Stall, Hindustan Umbrella and the list is not exhaustive.
